A Light Afternoon at Index

June 2025

On June 7th we hosted a small event at the Index space in New York City's Chinatown. It was so special to talk about and showcase the new phone with everyone that attended. A few people already had Light Phone IIIs, some were waiting for their pre-orders still and a lot of people have been curious to learn more.

we made a display for the Light Phone III

We had two talks - one with the developer team and one with the founders. We had stations for writing, reading, and brainstorming ideas for future features. There was also a dedicated table we made for playing with the phone itself. We closed with a musical performance by Lamplight and some more mingling.

Unfortunately due to a technical oversight, the talks were not recorded as we initially planned. We are already exploring the possibiltiy of coming to other cities soon!

the highlight was the Light Phone III demo station

and of course, lots of selfies from the demo phones...

We created work sheets with blank Light Phone III interfaces so attendees could sketch ideas for features, and it was really cool to discuss and go through all of those. If you'd like to download the pdf of blank interface pages that we made, you can download it here.

It was a wonderful opportunity to meet some of our users and go in depth about all things Light Phone together. We seriously look forward to more events!
